The best movies cannot be decided by any means considering that the term best is quite subjective. After a movie is viewed by a lot of viewers, there will be a number of people for whom the movie was excellent or great whereas for some it would be simply a movie and the rest of the viewers may mark the same movie as sub standard. In fact, the artistic performances of a movie can never be quantified despite being so many lists being organized for top ten movies or top 100 listed movies directory for that matter or even the list of best of the century. Besides, the views of critics and the viewers keep changing from time to time but the movies about whom neither the critics nor the viewers switch their positive judgments are the ones which can be referred to as the best movies.
It is not just the name which may grade any movie of 2002 to be the best, there are so many points in a movie that when interact in a true spirit carry the movie to the top. Rating of the movie depends upon the best performance in each forms of art like acting, direction, script, screenplay, choice of artists, sound, dubbing, editing for that matter you say a thing and it creates an effect.
The proper technique to judge a certain movie today is to conduct a study which is a bit time and effort consuming but may rate a movie to its actual value. Mostly the films are ranked best or dumb just by the display at the box office. But, a neutral and comprehensive survey gives the actual results. For a long time it is confirmed that the movies found once in the top list are the one which repetitively show up on the top lists as a result of different researches.
Claim of best movies is not only for the points mentioned above; basically it depends on the trend of the time too. The movie “Night Mare on the Elm Street” or “The Predator” gave birth to a trend and at that time, numerous movies coming out on identical lines yet every one of them could obtain the level of best, just a small number of them did. Movies like Alice in Wonderland, “date with an angel”, “God father”, “the forest Gump”, “the gladiator”, “the good the bad the ugly” or “walk like a man”, “superman”, “Spiderman” may be called as all-time best but of course there would be a number of people who would rate these movies far from the best.
There remains a consensus within the majority of movie historians, critics, and the viewers that the movies once rated best are certainly a part of the most critically viewed, meaningful, and must-see films of their times. They are the movies which leave endless and remarkable imprints on us. They amuse, captivate, educate, and touch us emotionally. Many of these best movies were made long time ago and might have been ignored on first release but the time endured test approved them as the best.
